Ruled by the emotional moon, it’s easy to see why Cancer’s moods fluctuate so often. As the moon is affected by the constantly shifting tides, so are Cancers. The moon is a fast-moving body, only spending a couple days in each sign of the zodiac, and Cancer’s moods are affected by each change more than any other signs are.

Being ruled by the moon also means there is a strong connection between Cancer and the water. Cancers feel an extremely strong emotional tie to ponds, streams, lakes, rivers, and especially the ocean. The beach is one of their favorite getaways, and they could spend hours doing nothing as long as they’re near the water. Hearing the crashing waves is almost spiritual for most Crabs, and they do their best thinking, meditating, and praying by the water.
