All House systems share the common trait of being depicted on the zodiac belt, with 12 sections that correlate with a zodiac sign. In addition, some House systems use quadrants and some don’t. To streamline, House systems broadly fall into one of two categories.
The first category of House systems divides the sections using the chart angles: Ascendent, Descendent, Imum Coeli (IC), and Midheaven (MC, Medium Coeli). These charts are called Placidus and Koch. The second category of House systems is based on precision. Each section is exactly 30 degrees. This type of chart can be found in Whole and Equal House systems. Luckily, there isn’t a “right” or “wrong” House system to use! They are all used for different reasons, from readability to astrological techniques. It’s simply a matter of preference.
Tropical astrology is often found in westernized astrological practices and follows a seasonal approach to astrology. It follows the calendar year using equinoxes, solstices, and seasons. Sidereal astrology is often found in eastern astrological practices and follows the current positions of the fixed stars and constellations, implying that it changes with the zodiacal belt.
There are a million reasons to believe in astrology. Realistically, astrology is applied to better understand collective and individual experiences. Most will look to astrology to find validation in real-time events, relationships, and experiences.
One cannot deny astrology when transits align with massively impactful collective events or the astounding accuracy of a synastry report that can perfectly explain a relationship. How could someone deny it when their birth chart can perfectly capture the individual’s personality or life experiences. People not only believe in but also rely on astrology because, if used correctly, it can produce incredibly accurate results.
