Relatively extroverted, Sophie Fergi leads a life which is open to the outside world. Her personal consciousness is forged by the heat of outer events. Sophie is inclined to adopt the most objective viewpoint possible to be pragmatic and perhaps even materialistic.

Sophie Fergi’s uppermost concern is her personal, subjective interest. Because the development of her personal identity requires great individual freedom of action, she tries to free herself from outer restraints and limitations. Psychologically self-centered, she remains fairly detached from the social world. She reduces such commitments to the strict minimum. Individualistic and egocentric, she derives her feelings of inner security from her ability to command her will and handle her personal involvements freely and openly.

The struggle between two fundamentally opposite psychological tendencies is the salient feature of Sophie Fergi’s psyche. In her case, emotional and dynamic functions predominate over mental adaptations to the reality principle and practical capacities. She is propelled by dynamism and idealism on one hand, while endowed with emotionalism and sensitivity on the other. The resulting personality is passionate and fiery, excitable and impulsive, while greatly engaged with others and receptive to their overtures. If she encounters problems in life, their source can often be traced to a lack of realism and reflection.

Sophie Fergi struggles to get into natural harmony with the physical world and the limitations and restraints it places upon her. Idealistic, she tends to be somewhat disconnected from practical considerations, and barely pays any attention to material things like food, money, her surroundings, and so on. She tends to be footloose and fancy-free, oblivious to the necessities of survival in the physical world, until her lack of material resources – an issue to which she usually grants no importance – becomes an emergency.

This feeling of being out of touch with material things and the physical dimension of reality may sometimes lead her to see herself as unfit for this world. She may think she cannot attach herself to anything that would sustain her efforts at self-expression.

However, her impractical nature offers many positive aspects. She sees life’s possibilities as limitless. She is apt to develop her imagination or pursue a spiritual quest in order to transcend the material world.

Although Sophie may not necessarily notice the fact about herself because she is so strongly engaged in actions, feelings, or material concerns, she sometimes lacks sound judgment. This impairment arises from a difficulty in obtaining perspective on herself and her life. She may be puzzled by her troubled relations with others.

Sophie must make an effort to detach herself from her personal reaction and observe it from an objective, more distant standpoint. If not, she is likely to find herself under stress or pressure because she did not give enough prior thought to tactics and strategy.

She may also experience dissatisfaction in her intimate relationships because she might struggle to get in sync with others.

Sophie gives little time or respect to anyone she sees as too “intellectual,” because she resists adapting to new ideas and viewpoints. In fact, an idea that rubs her the wrong way mentally and/or emotionally may elicit an explosive reaction. Self-analysis can be challenging for her and she tends to refuse to develop a solid, permanent idea of herself – and this plays a lot of tricks on her.
