Barbara Eden is an iconic actress best known for her breakout role as the wish-granting genie Jeanie on the classic NBC sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. Born on August 23, 1931 under the sign of Leo in Tucson, AZ, Eden began her career in the 1950s as a dancer on various television series. After making her feature film debut in the 1961 disaster movie Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, she went on to star in the 1964 fantasy-adventure 7 Faces of Dr. Lao and the 1962 musical-fantasy The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm. Eden's most memorable role, however, was as Jeanie on I Dream of Jeannie, which aired from 1965 to 1970. Although her career has spanned decades, Eden will always be remembered as the beloved mischievous genie.
