Thomas Rongen is a Dutch soccer coach and retired player who is best known for his career at various levels of American soccer. He won an MLS Cup as coach of DC United in 1999 and coached the US U-20 National Team to two U-20 World Cups.
Rongen was born on October 31, 1956 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He began his soccer career as a player with the Dutch club Ajax. He later moved to the United States and played for several American teams, including the Tampa Bay Rowdies and the Washington Diplomats.
Rongen retired from playing in 1985 and began his coaching career. He has coached at the collegiate, professional, and international levels. He is currently the head coach of the USL Championship team Tampa Bay Rowdies.
