What does Thoren Bradley’s psychology tell us about them?

Bradley Thoren discusses consciousness and the ideal of self in his book, “Theano: A Critical Introduction.”

Thoren Bradley has a lack of self-esteem which may sometimes inhibit the full expression of his generosity and love. He also has a lack of confidence in himself which may sometimes create challenges in relationships.

Thoren Bradley has a paternal complex and, as a result, some trouble finding his identity. Perhaps his father or a father figure was absent physically or emotionally during his childhood, which deprived him of the patterns or models which are usually helpful in structuring a personality. Because he might have lacked a particular sense of security which could be provided by a paternal presence, as well as the examples of behavior to follow in confronting the difficulties inherent in every life, he was forced to protect himself against negative influences and find his own system in order to grow and feel secure. Although this system was quite useful to him as a child, it has now settled in to such a degree that it interferes with his evolution. Psychological defense mechanisms and crutches which were once useful now encumber his mind or inhibit his developmental efforts. As a result, in certain situations, it is difficult for him to assert himself, and he tends to remain an awkward or passive observer. Because his authoritarian urges are mainly directed at himself rather than others, he sometimes feels guilty about his behavior. He judges himself severely, and sometimes punishes himself by setting difficult tasks for himself. Gradually, he should build up a strong inner discipline and acquire the strength to face the problems of existence in a detached and mature way.

Thoren Bradley has a sober and rather reserved personality. He may even strike people as harsh and austere at times. Perhaps he was raised in an atmosphere of rigor and sobriety, and, as a result, grew up very fast. He has acquired a spirit of self-sufficiency, tend to be rather uncompromising, and have a touchy sense of his personal dignity and worth. It is almost as though he was fighting an inner battle with his father or a father figure. The psychological models he received from his father or a father figure as a result of his interaction and his own interaction with authority may not have played a major role in shaping his relationships with the outer world and society. He may thus have been forced to compensate for this lack with individual determination.

Thoren Bradley has an inalienable awareness of the void and the vanity of existence. He is sometimes disoriented and deconstructed by an unknowable, unconscious force and tend to ignore or disparage the superficial pleasures and pains of daily life, preferring to dive into the depths of human experience as deeply as his intellectual, emotional, and spiritual capacities permit. Grappling with his “fundamental nature,” with the deepest and most primitive part of himself, he is sometimes aghast at the discovery of the sheer power of the life instinct and feels an imperious need to cope with it.

Thoren Bradley has adapted and is sensitive to different situations.

Thoren Bradley is extremely sociable, instinctively in tune with others. A need to be accepted and respected makes him tactful and diplomatic; in fact, he will sometimes swallow his personal pride in the interests of the smooth running of the group. He is also fond of harmony and order in artistic terms; he is sensitive and discerning, and will avoid anything crude and vulgar. As a result, he is sometimes offended by the harsh demands of existence. Relationships (the couple, or a partnership) take a central role in his life.

Thoren Bradley has a good balance between his need for movement and his tendency to be sedentary. He is just as likely to adapt to situations which require outbursts of initiative as to those which demand patience and perseverance. Out of either shyness or caution, he hides and protects his sensitivity behind a fairly cool, aloof exterior. He is fairly conservative, respectful of tradition and convention, and likes to follow the rules. Because he needs stability to alleviate his feelings of frustration and sometimes emotional dependency, he has great faith in contracts which seal relationships. His ties to his past are fairly strong. They are a source of reassurance and safety, because his parents likely gave a lot to him.

Thoren Bradley has an emotional nature and tends to react suddenly and excessively as soon as his sensitivity is touched. Although he feels that his independence, freedom, and self-sufficiency are fundamental values, he is sometimes frustrated by his need to rely on his family or friends. Moreover, he does not always grant the freedom of other people the same respect as his own. Likewise, he is sometimes angered by expressions of maternal tenderness, as if he feared that it would doom him to eternal dependency. His ambivalent behavior, full of jagged edges, may be traced back to the relationship he had with his mother or a mother figure. Although he was dependent on them, they may have rejected him. Now this attitude is extended to any situation in which his sensitivity comes into play and emotional bonds are liable to form. To ward off his feelings of dependency, he sometimes tends to become destructive. Based on denial, his reactions might be fierce, impulsive, excessive, erratic, or contradictory.

Thoren Bradley has a sensitivity and irrepressible imagination. Although his bubbling imagination provides an abundant source of inspiration for creative or spiritual evolution, it tends to be less helpful and positive in matters that concern his self-assertion as responsible and self-sufficient. In a relationship, he is extremely romantic and does not always see others the way they really are.

Thoren Bradley has a love and sensuality that is unrivaled. His partners always feel the intensity of his emotions, no matter how subtle they may be.

Thoren Bradley has fairly lofty amorous aspirations. The soulmate he imagines for himself is brilliant and dazzling with an array of talents and beauty. However, the gap between his splendid ideal and reality is sometimes wide. He should be careful not to confuse his romantic ideal with reality and become aware that his tendency to project may be a way of fleeing from himself.

Thoren Bradley’s birth chart indicates an emotional function which is usually expressed carefully and reasonably. Distrustful of his emotional urges and somewhat wary of his feelings, he tries to rid himself of all partiality and try to get some perspective and distance before making an emotional commitment.

Thoren Bradley has a paradoxical relationship with love. Although love, the need for a soulmate, and psychological considerations rule his life, he is quite self-focused. He is a consummate charmer and cannot bear not being loved. He craves admiration and adulation – unconsciously, he dreams of becoming a star. If, however, he finds fulfillment in love, all his worldly, psychological, and artistic qualities will thrive.

Thoren Bradley has a taste for a lively social life full of encounters with new people. He thrives on baroque adventures and seeks out partners who will add to his prestige or facilitate his success. He is quite adept at charming people who outclass him socially and may help him climb the social ladder.

Thoren Bradley has a good balance between his need for movement and his tendency to be sedentary. He is just as likely to adapt to situations which require outbursts of initiative as to those which demand patience and perseverance.

Bradley has a good mental and intellect.

Thoren Bradley powerfully ruled by his determination and vital needs, his intellectual abilities come to the forefront when his purpose is to communicate his ideal and plot his action or strategy. He can be both logical and astute and have gifts for theorizing but may sometimes lack perspective.

Thoren Bradley expresses his thoughts and ideas carefully, but with a relative lack of spontaneity. He is rather introverted and looks inside himself for the solutions to the problems he encounters in life. Because he tends to mistrust customary thought patterns, his opinion is usually highly personal.

Thoren Bradley has a good intellectual faculties and wit. Sometimes his intellectual faculties and wit are slowed down because he is turned inward. Because he tends to be oriented toward himself, he rarely tries to communicate with others for the simple pleasure of doing so. Indeed, he sometimes feels misunderstood. Moreover, it seems difficult for him to express the complexity of his inner perceptions.
