Hailee is not insensitive, but Hailee is baffled by Hailee’s own emotions. Hailee sees the emotional world as a foreign terrain, perhaps fraught with hidden dangers. Hailee might struggle to establish a rewarding relationship, as Hailee seeks special individuals to bond with. If Hailee were able to accept and understand Hailee’s own emotions, Hailee would have an easier time grappling with other people’s feelings.

As a result, Hailee’s dependency on others is unconscious. Because it is seen as such a threat, it is repressed. Actually, although Hailee offers conscious resistance to anyone who tries to lure Hailee out of Hailee’s emotional bubble, Hailee is always making timid, half-conscious forays into the world of feelings, because Hailee’s loneliness and fear are so unbearable.
