Bang Chan is reluctant to team up with other people. Because he is an individualist, he tries to free himself from any outside influence and achieve his own goals and ambitions. He often rejects help from others, only succeeding by working independently.

Bang Chan becomes involved in social affairs in order to contribute to important social causes or collective ideals, but is resistant to any project that will not allow him to lead himself according to his own individual direction. He identifies himself with an activity with social implications and tries to learn more about himself by participating in it.

Bang Chan thinks, intuits, and perceives things primarily through the mental faculties of intuition and thought. She is open and curious, optimistic and enthusiastic, and eager to participate in everything that happens around her. Her affections are lively and spontaneous, but may be more intellectual than sensual. In a partner, Bang Chan would seek a source of spiritual or artistic inspiration. Light-hearted and perhaps even fickle, Bang Chan never allows herself to be overcome by outer realities or emotions. In its most exaggerated form, her buoyancy borders on indifference.

Bang Chan struggles to get into a natural harmony with the physical world and the limitations and restraints it places upon him. Idealistic, he tends to be somewhat disconnected from practical considerations, and barely pays any attention to material things like food, money, his surroundings, and so on. He tends to be footloose and fancy-free, oblivious to the necessities of survival in the physical world, until his lack of material resources – an issue to which he usually grants no importance – becomes an emergency. This feeling of being out of touch with material things and the physical dimension of reality may sometimes lead him to see himself as unfit for this world. He may think he cannot attach himself to anything that would sustain his efforts at self-expression. However, his impractical nature offers many positive aspects. He sees life’s possibilities as limitless. He is apt to develop his imagination or pursue a spiritual quest in order to transcend the material world.

You work harder than others to understand other people’s feelings. But this seeming lack of empathy and compassion for others simply mirrors your own difficulty in understanding your own feelings and emotional needs. You are not insensitive, but you are baffled by your own emotions. You see the emotional world as a foreign terrain, perhaps fraught with hidden dangers. Becoming familiar with it would present more drawbacks than advantages. As a result, you may appear to be hard or aloof. You might struggle to establish a rewarding relationship, as you seek special individuals to bond with. If you were able to accept and understand your own emotions, you would have an easier time grappling with other people’s feelings. You have a strong desire for emotional independence, and might have trouble seeing other people’s emotional needs. You might even be the first to deny that such needs are real. As a result, your dependency on others is unconscious. Because it is seen as such a threat, it is repressed. Actually, although you offer conscious resistance to anyone who tries to lure you out of your emotional bubble, you are always making timid, half-conscious forays into the world of feelings, because your loneliness and fear are so unbearable.
