Scott Owen is an Aquarius who is best known as the double bassist for the Melbourne-based punk-psychobilly band The Living End. He is also one of the group's songwriters, having penned “I Want a Day,” “Flood The Sky,” and several other tracks.
Born in Australia on February 14, 1975, Owen has been making music for most of his life. He first picked up a bass guitar at the age of 14, and he soon began playing in various bands around Melbourne. In 1994, he co-founded The Living End with guitarist Chris Cheney and drummer Travis Demsey.
The Living End quickly gained a following in Australia and abroad with their unique blend of punk, rockabilly, and psychobilly. They have released eight studio albums, the most recent of which, Wunderbar, came out in 2018. Owen's bass playing and songwriting have been integral to the band's sound and success.
In addition to his work with The Living End, Owen has also played with other artists such as Rose Tattoo, Social Distortion, and Dropkick Murphys. He is a talented musician who has made a lasting impact on the punk and psychobilly scenes.
