Luís Figo was born on November 4, 1972, in Almada, Portugal. A Scorpio, Figo is a former midfielder who played for such top European clubs as Internazionale, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona. He was a member of the Portuguese national team from 1991 to 2006.

Figo began his professional career with Sporting Lisbon in 1990. He moved to Barcelona in 1995 and won the Copa del Rey and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in his first season with the club. In 2000, Figo made a controversial move to Real Madrid. He won the La Liga title in his first season with the club.

In 2003, Figo was named the FIFA World Player of the Year. He retired from professional football in 2009.
