Hiroshi Morie, better known by his stage name Heath, is a Japanese bass player and author. He is best known for his work with the heavy metal band X Japan, with whom he released five studio albums between 1987 and 1997.
Heath was born on January 22, 1968 in Amagasaki, Japan, and began playing the bass guitar at the age of 15. He joined X Japan in 1987, and the band quickly gained a following in the Japanese heavy metal scene. They achieved mainstream success with their second album, 1989's Blue Blood, which reached number one on the Japanese charts.
X Japan disbanded in 1997, but Heath continued to pursue his musical career, releasing several solo albums and collaborating with other artists. He also continued to write novels, and has published over 30 books since his 1996 debut, The Perfect Insider.
In recent years, Heath has also been active as a researcher, craftsman, and artist. He currently resides in Tokyo with his wife and two children.
