Asamoah Gyan is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Al Ain of the UAE Pro-League. He is the all-time top scorer for the Ghanaian national team with 51 goals.

Gyan began his career with Liberty Professionals in 2003. He later moved to French club Rennes, where he spent two seasons before joining Sunderland of the English Premier League in 2010. He was signed by Al Ain in 2012 and spent three seasons with the club, winning the UAE Pro-League title in 2013–14. He was then loaned to Al Ahli Dubai for the 2015–16 season.

In September 2015, Gyan was traded to Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG. He helped the club win the Chinese FA Cup in his first season. He returned to Al Ain on loan for the 2016–17 season.

Gyan was born in Accra, Ghana, on November 22, 1985. He is a Sagittarius.
