Your key to goal attainment…
Capricorns have an understated way of showing they care about people—but one of the most striking ways they do so is by making people realize their full potential and the positive possibilities in front of them. Having a Cap by one’s side is the key to succeeding at a goal. After all, few big accomplishments are possible by going it alone. So, Goats, whoever you’d like to see achieve their dreams, make sure you are not only a cheerleader but a direct helper along their journey!
What Caps should never do in a job interview…
Capricorns seem like shoe-ins when they score interviews. But there are some very off-putting things Goats can say or do in front of the potential employer. So, next time you consider a new job, don’t do these…
Unexpected job fields Goats would excel in!
Do traditional Cap-made careers seem boring to you? Well, luckily a determined Goat can do well in just about anything. Why not consider these lesser-known jobs that are suited for Capricorns:
Blogger. Teach, discuss and inspire others on any subject near and dear to you.
Yoga instructor. You could use a little de-stressing, and once you master your moves, you can teach like no other. Especially Iyenger style, which focuses on precise postures.
Bakery owner. You can follow the exact measurements and times it takes to make wonderful baked goods. And you will practice until every roll is perfect!
Stylist. Yes, really. You could work for high-rollers who need to boost their appearance.
Are you projecting the right kind of public image?
You like to be in control and might think others admire your take-charge attitude. While many probably do, you might also come across as a bit (or a major) control freak… and that probably isn’t a good thing.
Do you refuse to let others do certain tasks because they won’t do them “correctly”? Are you always the first one to speak up about what needs to be done first, second, third… and what is a waste of time? Do you only ask for help if you’re feeling like a sinking ship?
Loosening up a little and letting others’ feedback and job performance shine will not only ease some stress off your shoulders, but it will make others feel that you value and respect them more. Win-win!
Should you ever try to mix business with pleasure?
With how much time Capricorns spend on their work, it seems natural that you might fall in love (or at least lust) with someone you work with. But should you act on your attraction?
Honestly, it could be a recipe for disaster, especially if the other is a workhorse like you or your opposite in that they will deter you from projects and sap your energy doing too many things that, be honest, you could feel waste your time. Then there’s of course the case of your love affair going sour. Having to see and commiserate with this person will be super uncomfortable, distracting, and might even make your other colleagues feel weird, gossipy, or jealous.
So, ultimately, keep your work and personal life separate unless you truly fall head over heels and just can’t stay away.
You may have trouble working with these signs…
Capricorns can work with anyone, because they have a solid work ethic and are able to focus on the tasks at hand. But that’s not to say you like to work with everyone. Here are the signs to be weary of, and ideas for how to keep the peace between you.
Gemini: You don’t like that they can be hard to figure out and a little too silly. They don’t like that you’re “too serious” and controlling. Learn to appreciate their quirks—being a little goofier might actually be fun for you.
Leo: You can’t stand a show-off… especially when you don’t think they live up to their hype. They need the attention and might try to steal some of your ideas. Be strong and silent around them. Listen but never feed into their gossip or brain-picking.
Cancer: Their outward displays of warmth and sensitivity can get on your nerves, as your “coldness” might get on theirs. Be the father to their mother… firm but fair. And allow them to be emotional. It’s not your problem, really.
This Goat no-no might cost you that raise or promotion…
Do you ever feel like you are pulling way more weight than is fair? Or do you just love putting in the long hours—maybe overspending time doing personal things like seeing friends and loved ones, going out to eat at a reasonable hour, etc. Well, a little self-sacrificing can lead to burn out, build a wall between you and others, and even cost you advancement because you’re just too independent and could seem to be a live wire ready to explode if it all gets to be too much.
So, what to do? It’s easy! Relax. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Focus on doing things well over taking on everything. Spend time with those who really matter and will help refresh you during time off… pets, friends, family, even “you” time. You’re worth it—and that work perk!
Clues you should start looking for another job…
Yourfixed nature means that it could take you a while before you find the career path that’s just right for you, but once you do, you’ll stick to it like glue throughout your working life. And that may or may not be a good thing. “Fixed” indicates persistence and self-reliance, yes, but it can also mean stubborn.
Make sure you can recognize when it’s time to let go and move on to a better opportunity. It isn’t that you cling to the comfortable so much as you find it hard to admit that your choice may not have been perfect! If you’re unhappy and don’t see room for improvement, start searching.
Make time every day for this Aquarian office must…
Aquarius rules the lower legs and blood flow to the extremities. Sitting for hours slouched over a keyboard is bad for your back, your posture, and your circulation. And if work is your home away from home (as it usually is for Aquarius), you probably spend more time in the office than is good for your health!
With a standing desk you can burn more calories, feel more empowered, and improve your health all at once. You may even get to know more of your co-workers when you walk over to talk rather than send e-mail—you’re already standing up, after all!
Is your independence holding you back at work?
A working partnership could be the perfect job situation for Aquarius. You relate best to others on an intellectual level, and a relationship that omits all the messy emotional stuff seems ideal! Note, however, that nobody completely leaves their emotional being at home (not even you). You still must make a business partner feel valued, appreciated, and equal. In the best of all worlds, each of you would have a realm of responsibility—say, you’re the creative genius and your partner is the nuts-and-bolts half that brings those ideas to fruition. It’s a match made in heaven!
