Amberry was pondering what to do next when she felt a sudden jolt. It was like an electric shock, and she stumbled backward. She looked around her, trying to figure out what had happened. There was something…off…about the room. It seemed darker, more oppressive than before. The air felt heavier, like it was trying to suffocate her. She tried to back away, but something held her back. She looked around, trying to find a way out, but there was nothing. She was trapped.

Amberry struggles to understand the emotions of others. She finds the emotional world foreign and unsafe, and is wary of getting too close to anyone. If she were able to accept and understand her own emotions, she would have a easier time grappling with the emotions of others.
