We all have our cultural comfort zones, Virgo. But, with the North Node and Uranus in Taurus this year, the universe will be nudging you out of yours on a semi-regular basis. These wake-up calls can come through travel, education, religious/spiritual experiences, or simply interacting with an eclectic array of people. What all of them have in common is that they’re opening your mind to perspectives you haven’t seriously considered before. Still, these new understandings won’t really sink in until you anchor them into your everyday, embodied experience.
First, though, you’ll have to let go of some old, outdated assumptions. The Scorpio South Node uncovers hidden biases, and shows you where all-or-nothing attitudes are leaving little room for nuance. Eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio (April 30, May 15, Oct. 25, and Nov. 8) help you release toxic thoughts and limiting beliefs, as your consciousness continues to evolve and transform.
After all, Virgo, words and thoughts have power. With Mercury as your ruling planet, this is a reality of which you’re acutely aware. This year, be discerning about the language you use and the ideas you choose to focus attention on.
While there will be a lot of new information to process, Mercury’s movements will help direct you toward the most important details. Particularly, notice where he’s spending extra time in 2022 (thanks to retrogrades). These signs and houses will point to the areas in your life that could benefit from more focused attention.
From Jan. 1 to March 9, Mercury will divide his time between Aquarius (your sixth house of work, health, and habits) and Capricorn (your fifth house of creativity, romance, recreation, and children). Then, from April 10 to July 4, Mercury flip-flops between Taurus and Gemini. While the Taurus transit encompasses education, spirituality, travel, and legal matters, Mercury in Gemini is more concerned with your career and reputation.
Finally, Virgo, from Aug. 3 to Oct. 29, Mercury moves between your sign and Libra. This is where you’ll want to take an honest look in the mirror and reflect on whether you’re living in alignment with your values. Because Libra is your second house of income and resources, integrity with money matters will be especially important.
Why leave romance up to chance, Virgo? With Venus in Capricorn at the start of 2022 (Nov. 5, 2021 to March 5, 2022), this year favors a more pragmatic approach to love.
Venus’ retrograde (until Jan. 29) gives you some time to reflect on your current state of romantic affairs. Whether you’re in a committed relationship, seeing people casually, or opting out of dating altogether, it’s time to reevaluate how satisfied you are. Once Venus starts moving direct again, her conjunctions with Mars (Feb. 16) and Pluto (March 3) will empower you to create the conditions for attracting the love you really want. But it’s not just about being attractive—it’s also about being proactive.
After all, with Jupiter gracing your opposite sign of Pisces this year (Dec. 28, 2021 to May 10, 2022 and Oct. 27 to Dec. 20, 2022), you’ll have plenty of opportunities for finding love ... or falling even more deeply in love. So, Virgo, be ready to take advantage of them!
Jupiter’s sextile with Uranus in Taurus (Feb. 17) opens up some unexpected possibilities. You and your partner might jump at the chance to make a romantic getaway, go on a spiritual quest, or simply sign up to take a class together.
A Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces (April 12) finds you tuning in to one another’s wavelengths, almost to the point where you’re reading each other’s minds or feeling each other’s feelings. Just make sure to remember where you end and your lover begins.
For long-term relationships where it feels like the thrill is gone, Jupiter’s sextile with Pluto in Capricorn (May 3) brings opportunities to rekindle the romance. And things heat up even more once Jupiter moves into Aries (May 10 to Oct. 27).
Realize, though, Virgo, that Jupiter won’t just be fanning the flames of desire. He’ll also be adding fuel to the fire of any simmering conflicts—especially around a Mars-Jupiter conjunction on May 29. If things get heated between you and your significant other, try not to blow it out of proportion. After all, with Chiron also in Aries, this could have more to do with past heartbreaks than anything happening in your present relationship. Take the opportunity to heal and grow together.
“Necessity is the mother of invention.” Virgo, that was one of your main takeaways from last year's Saturn-Uranus square, and it continues to be true in 2022. As Saturn stays in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus, you and your colleagues are still adapting to changing circumstances, and working hard to establish new-and-improved policies, protocols, and procedures.
Practice makes perfect. Fortunately, as Mercury makes two passes through Aquarius (Jan. 1–25 and Feb. 14 to March 9), you’ll have extra time for sharpening your skills and honing your craft. It’s also a good idea to bring your skillset up to date with new technologies and trends.
This helps to keep things interesting if you’re staying put in your current position. If you’re looking to change jobs, or even careers this year, it will be especially important to add some variety to your repertoire.
True, Virgo, your work already speaks for itself. With Mercury in Gemini (April 29 to May 22 and June 13 to July 4), versatility will also speak volumes about your value as a professional. During this transit, you might want to start putting your feelers out and gathering information about upcoming opportunities. Update your résumé, as well as your profiles on any business networking sites, and begin reaching out to people in your desired field.
By the time Mars moves into Gemini (Aug. 20, 2022 to March 25, 2023), you might be ready to start making some moves. Just make sure you have clear objectives in mind—otherwise, it will be easy to scatter your focus and your energies.
Fortunately, Mercury in Libra (Aug. 25 to Sept. 23 and Oct. 10–29) makes it easier to balance it all. And, as Mercury and other Libra planets trine Saturn and Mars (Oct. 11–26), you’ll be making it seem effortless and easy-breezy. Make sure, though, Virgo, that you’re giving equal attention to balancing the books.
