John Lackey seeks to make his inner wealth outwardly manifest and substantial.

John Lackey had a relatively extroverted life. He led a life which was open to the outside world. His personal consciousness was forged by the heat of outer events. He was inclined to adopt the most objective viewpoint possible to be pragmatic and perhaps even materialistic.

John Lackey was a successful pitcher in the MLB for many years. While he contributed to important social causes or collective ideals, he tended to keep his individual identity intact. For this reason, although he may become personally involved in social affairs, he was likely to resist any project he would be unable to lead himself, according to his own individual direction. Lackey identified himself with an activity with social implications and attempted to know himself through this activity.

John Lackey lives in a world of his dreams and subconscious. He cannot live without love, and, like water which flows into and takes on the shape of the vessel which contains it, he is always ready to submerge himself in another person. Stirred by forces he does not control, he may be aroused by passions which are impervious to the restraints of reason and logic. He is an emotive creature in harmony with the flow of his feelings, impulses, and urges.

John Lackey struggled to get into natural harmony with the physical world and the limitations and restraints it placed upon him. He tended to be disconnected from practical considerations and barely paid any attention to material things like food, money, his surroundings, and so on. He tended to be footloose and fancy-free, oblivious to the necessities of survival in the physical world, until his lack of material resources – an issue to which he usually granted no importance – became an emergency. This feeling of being out of touch with material things and the physical dimension of reality may sometimes lead him to see himself as unfit for this world. He may think he cannot attach himself to anything that would sustain his efforts at self-expression. However, his impractical nature offered many positive aspects. He saw life’s possibilities as limitless. He was apt to develop his imagination or pursue a spiritual quest in order to transcend the material world.
